Oetiker Group acquires AD Plast, a leading full-service injection molder in the Nordics

Oetiker Group, a leading global manufacturer of connecting solutions, acquired all shares in AD Plast AB effective November 25, 2024. The acquisition of AD Plast, a leading Swedish injection molder, marks Oetiker’s entry into the world of injection molding and further strengthens its position as one of the leading suppliers of connecting solutions to the automotive and other industries.

AD Plast AB is a leading, highly automated injection molding company with decades of experience. As a full-service provider, its capabilities span from product design support and in-house mold manufacturing to injection molding, assembly, and warehousing. Renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to sustainability, the company serves a wide range of industries, including automotive, electronics, furniture, and consumer goods. Based in Anderstorp, in Sweden’s Gislaved region – the No. 1 polymer cluster in the Nordics – AD Plast employs around 40 dedicated professionals.

“When I first visited AD Plast’s facility in 2019, I was immediately impressed by its modern, clean, and highly efficient production setup, characterized by a high degree of automation. This success is a testament to the hard work and vision of its former owners, Michael and Anneli Jonsson, over the past two decades. Having collaborated closely with AD Plast over the last five years, we’ve developed a strong mutual understanding, and I see a great cultural fit between our two companies”, says Thomas Meier-Bickel, CEO of the Oetiker Group.

“When we acquired AD Plast in 1994, we immediately started to automate and digitalize processes. Our interest in technology and our drive to continuously improve processes has positioned us as a technical leader in thermoplastic manufacturing. Being now part of the Oetiker Group, I see many growth and improvement opportunities for our business”, says Michael Jonsson.

“The acquisition of AD Plast aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy to be a global leader for high-end connecting solutions not only in metal but also in plastics. By leveraging our strong relationships with key players in the automotive and other industries, we see great growth opportunities for AD Plast’s business”, adds Thomas Meier-Bickel.
